So, what's 'Worship, Walk and Work' all about?
Everyone who authentically follows Christ goes through a continual process—sanctification. This simply means that we're becoming more and more like Jesus. Around Harvest you'll hear that described as worshiping, walking, and working for Christ. When we're intentional about honoring God in these ways, we can't help but become "mature in Christ" (Colossians 1:28)—growing deeper in our relationship with Him and our relationships with others.
WORSHIPING CHRIST refers to any part of our life which purposes to "ascribe glory to the Lord" (Psalm 96). Specifically, in a church context, it is actively participating in our times of corporate worship, where we "lift high the name of Jesus" and lean in to the "bold unapologetic preaching" of God's Word. God desires that you would plug into a community of faith for His glory and your good!
WALKING WITH CHRIST refers to participating in the process of disciple-making. Disciple-making is worked out together in our ministry to one another. It's not about one or a small number of pastors bearing the full responsibility to care for our church (Ephesians 4:11-12). Rather, it's about all who follow Christ using our God-given spiritual gifts to minister to each other, in the context of our Christ-centered church.
How do we do this at Harvest? It happens most effectively through our Small Group Ministry. We want everyone who calls Harvest their home to take part in a small group. These are regular times of meeting together where the Scriptures are opened, lives are shared, and prayer is happening. Small group ministry even takes place within our Student and Children's Ministries. All kinds of Small Groups are available, and new groups are continually forming. More HERE.
WORKING FOR CHRIST refers to actively serving in the local church, using your God-given gifts in the service of others for God's glory and the church's good.
